Double bassist from Denmark and part of the European Jazz Master programme, Søren has recently become an active presence in the Amsterdam jazz scene, performing as a sideman with various groups. For this intimate duo evening he explores a selection of timeless jazz standards, combining a warm sound with melodic interplay and the spontaneity of improvisation.
Saxophonist and composer with a melodic, expressive sound and a strong sense of rhythmic interplay. His approach combines the jazz tradition with contemporary harmonies, thoughtful improvisation and an instinctive connection to the music — through storytelling and exploration.
Sietske Roscam Abbing is a jazz vocalist and educator based in Amsterdam. With her jazz-crossover band Sietske she has released two albums, most recently “Leaving Traces”. She is active in various project-based line-ups and performs as lead vocalist with the Amstel Big Band. As an artist she strives to make music that is authentic, innovative and truly personal.
Every Thursday, jazz guitarist Theo Naishtat invites a different musician from the Amsterdam jazz scene to join him for an intimate duo concert. Theo is originally from Buenos Aires and now based in Amsterdam. With a fine balance between virtuosity and sensitivity, his playing and compositions embrace the jazz tradition while taking a contemporary approach.
Double bassist from Italy and recent winner of the Conad Jazz Contest. Now based in the Netherlands, he graduated from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and performs regularly as a sideman with a variety of groups across the Dutch jazz scene, while also touring frequently in Italy. His playing combines a solid rhythmic foundation with melodic sensitivity, a warm sound and an attentive approach to musical interaction.
“Monkum Elvis” is the trio led by double bassist Seb Overell, featuring two young jazz musicians from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam: Leon Baets on guitar and Florian Marka on drums. Having played together extensively over the past year, the trio explores the music of Thelonious Monk alongside jazz standards and original compositions.
Eduardo Blanco is an Amsterdam-based trumpet player with a warm, lyrical sound and a deep connection to the jazz tradition, bringing together the elegance of bebop, swing and his own personal musical voice.
Imanol Emede is a guitarist and composer from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and an emerging voice in contemporary jazz. Since moving to the Netherlands in 2022, he has developed a distinctive musical language that combines lyrical expression with rhythmic refinement, drawing on both American and European jazz traditions. He won the Nicolaï Prize at the Royal Conservatoire. With the Imanol Emede Trio he moves effortlessly between introspective, delicate passages and bursts of virtuosic energy, with a clear, warm tone, flowing melodic lines and room for expressive interaction.
Double bassist from Spain, currently pursuing his master’s at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Active across the Dutch jazz scene as both bandleader and sideman, Ignacio brings a deep appreciation for the jazz tradition, a warm and resonant sound and an attentive approach to musical interaction. His playing combines a strong rhythmic foundation with melodic sensitivity and a natural sense of swing.
